Love, Laughter & a Little East Coast Low – Laura & Josh’s Hunter Valley Wedding at White Barn Pokolbin
When you plan a wedding in the Hunter Valley vineyards, you probably imagine sunshine, golden light, and rows of grapevines stretching into the distance. But Laura and Josh’s wedding had other plans, courtesy of an east coast low that brought wild weather and plenty of surprises. And honestly? It only made their day more unforgettable.
Thankfully, these two had an ace up their sleeve, a dream venue with a rock-solid backup plan. Their Hunter Valley wedding at White Barn Pokolbin effortlessly pivoted indoors, with the ceremony moved into the picture-perfect white chapel. As rain tapped on the windows, Laura and Josh exchanged vows surrounded by loved ones in an intimate and romantic setting that felt straight out of a movie.
Before the ceremony, they shared a first look at the always-gorgeous Enzo Cottages—and it was a certified tear-jerker. Josh was visibly emotional seeing Laura in her gown for the first time. She was stunning.
Laura’s “I Do Crew” brought the colour and glam in lush green satin dresses, each holding vibrant bouquets of colourful native flowers crafted by the floral wizards at The Flower Alley. Josh and his crew looked timeless in classic navy suits, and the contrast against the moody skies was magic. Their outfits added the perfect pop of colour to the rain-slicked landscape.
Then, just when we thought the rain had settled in for the night, it took a breather. Cue the group photo! We seized the moment to grab a all-in guest group shot outside and then the clear umbrellas made their debut as we wandered the White Barn property, capturing romantic, moments that only a true Hunter Valley wedding photographer could love. (Spoiler: I loved every second.)
The weather might’ve been wild, but once the reception kicked off, so did the party. The dance floor heated up fast, with everyone letting loose and bringing the vibe. Rain? What rain?
